But yeah. I don't litter and typically if I see something on the ground I'll typically pick it up and throw it away - but beyond that, you never know if these birds pick up the caps from landfills too.

Just let nature do its work. They will evolve a stomach that can handle complex plastics and metals; then they will be nature's recycling animals. These are just short-term detriments compared to the long-term effects they will have on the environment when they can survive off of a 98% plastic/metal diet. Come on guys, be smart here.
