I actually installed SE like a week ago but I only played a few maps, dicked around in Bakpax, and played a few SP missions. Dunno if I'll get back into it at all. I'm not nearly as good as I used to be either. :(
I'd play Gore again except nobody worth a shit plays it. It's gone from a community full of awful faggots to a community full of goddamn idiot mexicans who don't even move while shooting.

Acromus do you play on VM or do you have a windows machine to play on?
I still have a decent windows machine that I bought around 2 years before I got my mac. Upgraded it with a new gfx card and it runs even the newest games just fine.
When I was in Scotland I used BoodCamp ... really shit to always reboot your computer when you want to play games ... but BootCamp with Windows XP runs pretty good ;)

Yeah, I used to love gore but now it's all wack. When I 1st got back into gore(SE) again it was still kinda fun b/c I raped. I would go days w/ out even one death. Now they all cheat. Some all the time and some just in wars. I was called a cheater, nwp homo hacker and every bad faggy thing you can think off. Which in the end I was damn proud to be nwp w/out ever once cheating. Guys, I miss Gore soo much. I haven't had my own pc until about a month ago (NOT counting my 3 year old laptop).

I haven't really been following anything computer related recently so I'm probably not of much help. I'm pretty sure though for around $100 you can get a Geforce 9800GT or a GT240. I'm sure you'd find one on ebay for 50 or 60 or maybe less. I know a few people who have these and they are playing all of the games out right now no problem.
I've been playing a fair bit this past week. Sadly I'm stuck playing primarily with Europeans, so that blows.

To my knowledge there are 2 seperate Gore's around - correct me if I'm wrong.
Gore - Original which was the one that NEEDED a CD KEY to play online with...
Gore SE - Needs NO CD KEY to play because it is FREE but does support extra features if you have an original gore key or an SE key... (also heard it has a bug with the registered version)

I was just playing again. Lame is still the most blatant cheating idiot in the game, and yes he's still fucking awful regardless. I don't know how many times I saw that idiot kill himself with a well placed rocket into a goddamn wall two inches in front of his face.
A lot of the same fags still play, as well as a whole new breed of fags. Nobody seems to know how to play the game though these days. Everyone I have played with so far is just a brain dead/clueless moron who can't even navigate the map without killing themselves.

I just installed it to a VM instance. I'll have to grab a mouse and hop in sometime. I'd be playing at work...so I'll have to wait until I have a key to get in and out of the building past work hours :F

the mouse is bad enough to make me suck but not that badly (the one time I recently played). The keyboard works for me since it came with the same computer that I used to play Gore on in 2003 :-P unfortunately the mouse from that pc shorted out over time... this thing was stock with the computer but worked perfectly for Gore since it needs at least 3 mouse buttons for Fire1 Fire2 & Scope:

My pc could really use a gphx card so I can use HDMI w/ the hdtv.
If I could play with that mouse again with my hdtv as a monitor i'd be in Gore glory. Sux about the servers. I also noticed there are a bunch of new players. Not too bad of a thing but they all barely talk.
Also tried to set this chillstream controller up w/ gore using joy2mouse... i damn near had it and then got extremely frustrated and gave up.

I attempted to run a virtual machine (to get around a windows 7 specific issue) and got an error possibly related to installing 64 bit os's and when I assumed a bios update could be available I come to find out they cannot be flashed while running a 64 bit operating system, nor can they be installed without a floppy disk drive as far as I know. Gah I feel like such a noob w/ all of this.
without a floppy disk drive? it's virtual, therefore the hardware is virtualized. I don't think having one or not really affects anything. i have 64b Win7 installed on vmware fusion (mac) and it runs just fine. i've also used sun virtualbox in the past with other 64b software (mainly linux), so i don't think it has a problem running it.Quote:
