Alright, I got bored and decided I was going to dual boot Vista and Xp.

    I have 3 hard drives
    One master and 2 slaves.
    The master is Vista
Slave1 is my extra storage drive
    Slave2 is my Xp

Master and Slave1 are on the same IDE cable.
Slave2 is on the same IDE cable as my cd rom, I don't know if I SHOULD do this, but it is working now.

So I installed XP and it is running fine and all that, but when I restart it doesn't ask which OS I want to boot.

So I unplugged my hard drive that XP is on and thought it would just boot Vista with no problem and just run how it was before I started to screw wit things. But it didn't work.

Any ideas on how I can fix this?

If not, I can just install Windows XP: Media Center and get the features I that I use with Vista.

XP should have been installed FIRST, I know XP has a boot manager built in, dunno about Vista..but everybody i have seen on tech forums always installed Vista AFTER XP was installed.

If you just want the shit Vista has from Media Center just install Media Center only.
Then ya got lots of extra HDD space for Lesbo porn

Better yet install Media Center and Ultimate Ubuntu..only is ya don't have a ATI card installed.. with ATI and Linux

Forget that..ya may fuck that up, ya may get a little confused where the drive and swap file should be on the install.

    No I do want Ubuntu.
I was actually going to mess with that AFTER I got my stuff fixed with Vista and XP dual boot.

I will take your advice and go with Windows XP: Media Center.

Maybe I can skype you one day and give me a step by step so I don't screw things up. I am in the process of backing things up now.

Lemmie know when ya wanna do Ubuntu.
Did you DL the Ultimate Ubuntu? If not DL it first, burn to a DVD.

When you are ready get your headset on and I will talk to ya through Skype.

actually ubuntu will install its own boot manager so it doesn't matter what order you installed vista and xp.

Grub should be able to boot each hd separately.

Grub will do a good job..the thing I don't like is when ya have XP and Linux installed XP wants to know what OS you want to boot when the box has XP installed on it before Linux , and then Grub kicks in, its like loading two boot managers, although I prefer Grub over LILO .

I'm sure that would work..but i still cant for the life of me understand why anybody wants Vista now..XP works with all the drivers and games you have, Vista is not ready for prime time yet, don't get me wrong, it will be in time, but you are just a fuckin beta tester for M$ with Vista..there is NO advantage with Vista that I can tell..I want shit to work, fuck eye candy.

I think people install Vista just to say to their friends.."Hey look..I got Vista on this comp, doesn't it look cool? ".
And then your fav game doesn't load

EDIT..10 gigs is enough for Ultimate Ubuntu..but ya may wanna up that cus ya wanna install games and other software..O Ya..and porn

I am in the process of updating XP now, of course Windows Update is useless but that WindizUpdate isn't working right.

I keep getting the same thing to download and install then it says to reboot, which I do, then I scan for new updates and it again gives me the same damn update.

About my 5th time rebooting, luckily it takes about 5 seconds to reboot.
God do I miss only wasting 279mb of ram for the OS. It is a beauty lol.

Yes I know Vista isn't great, but oh well.
