I never really got the BIG deal over Led Zeppelin. I like a lot of songs they made, but I think to some extent they are over-rated. Perhaps the dissolution of the band due to the drummer dying only adds to that legend?

Jimmy Page is an absolute legend...the guy does unnatural things to guitar strings (holyshitrhymezatm) - but I could never stand Robert Plant. I've always heard he's a giant prick IRL ... and in like 2003-2004ish I seen an interview with him and he was a dick. That probably affects how I view the band.
great song
And so it is, we've located the anti-christ.Originally Posted by DESTRUCTION

Seriously, I have never met a single person in my life that didn't like Led Zeppelin. Die in a fire.
@Spyder: Overrated? What the fuck, seriously. I've heard Robert Plant was a prick irl too, that doesn't really harm the way I view the band though.
I posted this because it was the bands first time performing in over... 20 years or something? They used Jason Bonham (John Bonham - their original drummer)'s son.
Quit complaining you cunts.
Yes, overrated. I think it's because they weren't around as long as, say, the Rolling Stones...who is a band who SHOULD get that kind of credit because they've made way more popular songs and have weathered the business before AND after Zeppelin.Originally Posted by MasterOfPuppets
There are a lot of Zeppelin songs that are poor quality - but I think they make up for it by having quite a few very impressive ones.

just becuase they werent around as long as some other bands does not make them any less influential musically. over rated? no i think they are rated pretty fairly looking at the sales figures.
Being over rated would lead to better sales, wouldn't you say?
If you're really going to stick with that theory, you are saying that the Eagles, 2Pac, Barbra Streisand and Elton John are all better than the Rolling Stones - which would be a pretty funny theory to explain to most people
