I gotz the Alienware m9750 laptop
I know these kinds of threads are pretty common, but pretty soon(ish) I'm going to have to start looking into investing into a decent laptop for school/general purposes\media(and or)gaming\porn/what? All I'm using now is the slowish family Linux Ubuntu OS-based comp.
If anyone knows/hears of some good deals under 2g's, let me know.
Is a Dell XPS M1530 worth it for $1,300?
at some places you can get laptops that come with no OS and save a couple 100bux, people here prolly know more about it than i do though, but its something to consider.
Not sure how much gaming you'll get out of that 8400GS it comes with, but you can upgrade to the 8600GT for an extra $150 which may be worth it.Originally Posted by Snooperz
If you want a gaming laptop, I'd go with Alienware like our pal Limp did. The prices have really come down to a reasonable level with them since Dell took over.
I've been looking into a laptop too - I didn't realize how much Alienware laptops have come down, tbh...even though a true gaming laptop (I did the customization thing) makes it over $3k easy.
What are the specs on yours? How much did you upgrade from the $1,499 base (I realize the prices are different now from when you bought yours though).Originally Posted by limppimp
Excuse me my fine fellow folks of NWP, but may I ask what do you think of this?

And upgrading to the T9300 2.5GHZ 6MB CACHE (for $99 bux) as well as downgrading to the the 200GB hard drive (for money reasonz obviously) - Total cost = $1,238

Dunno though, seems kinda dodge, and that's the only review I could find anywhere. And yes I know, it's ass-ugly.
