I managed to setup it up under IIS, i couldn't be bothered doing another Reinstall to Linux, that would have meant more downtime etc. http://braudband.net. Setting up MYSQL in Linux is actually MUCH easier than trying to do it in windows.
WTF are you using MySQL with IIS/Windows anyways?
If you're going to run a linux server, just run a LAMP setup with Debian rather than Ubuntu.
MS SQL runs a lot better on Windows. Even though it's proprietary and costs money (MySQL Enterprise is not free though - so I can't really support them as an open source/free alternative) it's actually a really great database system. MySQL and PostgreSQL are cool but have a lot of catching up to do still.
