Why water powered cars will never exist

Actually think of it this way, say you find a shitload of cheap francium or rubidium(forget the half lives etc etc). Then in side the car you create a system that would combine the two periodically to extract both energy and hydrogen (you would get massive amounts of both) then you could use that energy AND hydrogen to run your car through electrolysis/explosions.

(far cry from reality, but it shows its hypothetically possible)

water powered cars "Could" happen, but only if we find another way of splitting water down other than electrolysis in the first place. It does not need to be energy efficient or anything, only as long as the energy lost comes from outside of the car (IE, in a supernova, where francium/rubidium are made).

solar power is the same shit, its not very efficient, but the energy is coming from inside the sun, so its not really "being wasted"
