So basically, I've been looking into building a DVR system first and foremost, and have thought about also making it a media center/home theater system as well.
I wanted to know if any of you have built DVR systems before or know people who have and whatever information you could give. I've found a few good resources, like byodvr.com
I'm open to everything...whether it be XP with SageTV, Linux with MythTV, etc.

yeah i JUST built one. that's why i was asking about that case. it's more of just a media center than a dvr though. my vid card has a tv tuner but i dont know if im going to go through the hassle of getting it to work with Ubuntu. i tried MythBuntu and was unimpressed. i put the full version 8.04 on it and got my bluetooth Playstation 3 Logitech Cordless Mediaboard Pro working lat night. ill be hooking it up to my tv tonight. ill prolly post some before/after case mod pics and some pics of it running.

Its not 7.2 sorry i counted wrong, i have some other speakers set up so i counted them with it.
My tv which is very good, and on sale because samsung came out with "Another series" so they like just reduced the prices of all the tvs from my series.
