Microsoft, in an effort to reverse the effects of bad word of mouth reviews of Windows Vista, held an experiment where they re-branded Vista as “Windows Mojave” and had a bunch of computer users who previously judged Vista as “terrible” test out this ‘placebo’ of sorts, only to give it rave reviews and suddenly be converted into Vista-Heads when it is revealed that they were actually using Vista to begin with.

It should be noted, however, that there is no indication of what specs they are using on the computer it’s running on (for as we all know, one of the biggest negative aspects of Vista is that it’s a memory hog) and most of the users previewed are not “power users” by any means and appear to be the same kind of person I help troubleshoot computer problems by suggesting they plug their computer . Furthermore, there are no videos posted of a power user that realizes right off the bat that it’s practically Vista and laughs about how Microsoft fails on an epic scale for trying to pass Vista off as a brand new operating system – until they are made aware that it’s just a bad press experiment and now feel the need to seriously question why Microsoft doesn’t just throw in the towel and make a worthwhile operating system instead of trying to convert a bunch of, quote, “noobs”.
