Hey guys i recently got a pup. A brown Labrador, shes the runt of the group, and she has greeeeen eyes. Anyways, i was wondering if any of you ever had a pup, and could give me advice on how to get it to pay attention.

The guides on the internet say to say its name, then move quickly away so it can find you, then when it makes eye contact praise it with a treat. Repeat until it gets the idea.

    Any tips?

Always being consistent with your commands, rewards, and expectations is really what is key.

Duno though...did you plan on living with your parents for a long time? It's hella hard to find places to rent with a dog.

Yeah I actually just got a boxer/hound dog mix puppy about three weeks ago. When they poop/pee in the house, you have to catch them doing it - and right them punish them (make sure they know what they did wrong - point their face to it, and then pop them on the butt and tell them no in an angry tone) that's one of the toughest things to train our puppy atm, cause we have been moving and a lot of stuff going on, none of us around that much since we got her.

    + boom & spydave said.

Here's my Maltese puppy. He's about 3 months in that pic and 5 months now. The major problem with him still is getting him to go outside. He's starting to understand since we leave the porch door open for him to go out whenever he wants and we haven't seen any more poop in the house. He's starting to get his name I think, but he responds more to squeaks and kissy noises from someones mouth.

Most small dogs are less intelligent than larger ones and I can definitely tell Gizmo isn't that bright, but he's still awesome.
