It's a 300gb western digital, it works with our laptop fine and I assume the other Home PC (haven't tested it yet) but will not work with my PC no matter which USB hub I plug it into.

    Any help?

did it come with a connection to plug it in to two usb's? or did it come with some kind of extra power source?

It might be possible that the usb ports on your PC are weak and you will need a cable like that.
    Are the ports USB2.0 ?

What are the specs of your PC?

Include how many drives and PSU wattage.

when you do plug the drive in make sure to go to :

Control panel>administrative tools>Computer management and click Disk Management

So you can be sure whether its being detected at all or not.

Also goto Device manager and make sure EVERYTHING is installed.(no yellow triangles)
