    no, nigs like fried chicken because when they were slaves all they got to eat was what they raised or the masters threw to them(crappy cuts of meat like the parts used for bacon and cooking stews). chickens pretty much take care of themselves because you know a Fellow isnt going to take care of anything. watermelons will grow pretty much anywhere as well. all soul food was essentially slave food that has become part of their culture.
