    Been on the fence for awhile about upgrading my PC a bit, and I think I'm finally going to buy some hardware. But, I'm worthless. Need help.

    According to Lavalys/Everest, I have:

    DualCore Intel Pentium D 805, 2666 MHz (20 x 133)
    Dell Dimension 5150/E510 Motherboard
    Intel Lakeport-G i945G chipset
    1.00 GB RAM
    ATI Radeon x300/x550/x1050 Series Secondary (128 MB)
    ATI Radeon x300/x550/x1050 Series (128 MB)
    ATI Radeon x300 SE HyperMemory (RV370)

    ..which isn't horrible. I know my graphics card is pretty bad, and I could use more RAM for sure. Basically what I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions, or maybe know of where I can find the best deal (online or not). I also don't really know what kind of hardware is compatible with my current shit. :/

    I'm looking to spend maybe $200 for some RAM and a video card, maaaybe more, depending, preferrably not though. If I could get something good for less than that, that'd be sweet too.

    Kind of want to get some games. Pretty sure the newest PC game I own is Guild Wars. :/

    You could get 4gb of RAM and a nvidia 9500gt for under $100.

    9800 gt

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145247

    two 2gb sticks

    thats if you want to pay what you suggested, you'd be trading in a medium style card for a high performance game card, for its time, 9800 gt rapes.

    but what diddlz suggested

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...500+gt&x=0&y=0

    some 50 dollar 9500's.

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...&Description=2 x 2gb&name=%2425 - %2450

    for 25- 50 range.

    that 9800gt would definitely rape, but the 9500gt will play any game just fine.

    You are up against a major bottle neck, at this point might as well buy a new power supply and mobo and CPU

    CPU = e5200
    Mobo = any 100 dollar LGA775
    power supply = 500Watts (30+ amps on 12 rail) for 50-70 dollars
