COMP PROBLEM ATM

I got one of those BS viruses that acts like an antivirus and prompts you to send them money to "buy" their software. I downloaded spyware doctor and it fixed it np. I then ran ccleaner on registry to clean up any leftovers. Now I have a problem, everytime I double click something, it prompts me to "Run as" another user. However, if I right click, there is a "start" option just below that runs the program fine. If I "Run As" the top option it does not recognize me as an Admin. However if I run as "Owner" and login with my pw, it works. My goal is to replace the "Run As" option with the "Start" option. Please help pals

backup personal data and format. not worth the trouble of trying to fix virus related problems. chances are there is still some shit left on that machine. a lady at work got the same one, i removed it and it showed back up a week later. after i removed it the second time windows lost its file association with .exe files. trust me, it's a can of worms friend. spend the 30 mins reinstalling windows.

fuckin a that sucks. mine removed file associations for everything but i fixed that, its just this single problem atm.

Exactly. I used to fix them but as you said, it's a crap-shoot after. Sometimes it's fine, but most of the time it's better to just reformat anyways as a fresh copy of windows runs better than anything 2+ years old...
