I remember reading somewhere that Portral 2 was intended to be more like a glorified minigame than anything else. It was actually like 2 hours of gameplay from start to finish. So I'm sure Portal 2 will be different in that sense.

yeah Portal was just a concept they came up with and wanted to test out. so yes it was pretty much a tutorial not a full game.

lol @ "they came up with" atm when all valve did was acquire the studio that made Portal, just like they acquired the mod teams responsible for CS, TF, and DOD and started charging money for them. Every expansion of HL was outsourced to Gearbox, CS:CZ was outsourced to Turtlerock, L4D was fully made by Turtlerock and then bought out by Valve, etc. Valve is great in the story department but as far as originality Valve has next to none.

If you own the company that came up with something then, yes, you get credit for it.

I think Rage looks pretty fucking sweet. COD Black Ops was pretty cool to see beyond the trailers. Duno wat Didlz was looking for...

Nope. That's like saying Microsoft gets credit for Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Diddy Kong Racing, Banjo-Kazooie, Conkers Bad Fur Day, Jet Force Gemini, Blast Corps, etc. They had nothing to do with the development of those games, but happen to own the company who made those games (after the fact, just like Valve). Valve buys up companies and publishes titles as if they made them themselves. Doesn't matter though since all Valve games besides the HL series suck dick.

cbf listing two examples, only one of which had any new footage being shown off. Not a very good argument against this being a forgetable E3!

uh yep. that's how ownership works.

they have other games that were good: TFC and TF2, Portal, L4D and CS. i enjoyed them at least, as did many others.
