The game was too far behind anyways - the graphics are already a bit out of date (that real plasticy look). It probably would have caught hell over that, regardless of the fact that it's a DN game and still would have been popular (even if just in sales).

Rick Huenink was the Lead Designer, not the ARTISTIC DIRECECTOR. Rick didn't start until most of the core team who developed the game had already left the company. 3DRealms has been dead for a long time now IMO. They should have shipped the game they had back in 1998.
